About the Project
This center has been commissioned by the Ministry of Education's Curriculum and Instruction Department to implement the Implementation Plan for the Special Education Gender Empowerment and Counseling Resource Center (Preparatory Office). Moving away from the traditional top-down approach to problem-solving, the project comprehensively examines gender equity resources in special education schools from four dimensions: administrative leadership, curriculum and practicum, student affairs and counseling, and physical spaces — placing student needs at the core and integrating gender equity education into all campus activities.
The project team combines experts and scholars in special education and gender equity education to design appropriate teaching materials and methods for students with different types of disabilities. Through school visits, digital media training courses, and the development of online learning resources, the team helps frontline teachers integrate gender equity concepts into daily instruction, ensuring that every student with special needs receives appropriate gender equity education.
In addition, the project places great importance on promoting gender equity education among parents, using sign language video courses and parent forums to foster school-family collaboration and jointly create an education environment that respects gender diversity and eliminates gender discrimination — embodying the principle of "leaving no child behind."
